Vine Cottage Charmouth
A word of welcome from the owners
When we decided to purchase a property to use for weekends and holidays we arranged to see 16 properties along the coast from Lyme Regis to Portland. Charmouth was our second stop and we fell in love with the village.
Why Charmouth? We can walk to the beach for a picnic on the wooden picnic tables overlooking the sea, surrounded by coastal cliffs and green hills. The village itself is warm and welcoming and has more than adequate shopping facilities. Charmouth is a ‘gateway town to the Jurassic coast’ with its own fossil centre.
Why Vine Cottage? It is on the main street so one truly feels part of the village (do not worry, Charmouth is by-passed by the A35!!) The rooms are all cosy in feel, though well sized to accommodate up to 6. The house is very comfortably furnished and has all the convenience of a modern property whilst maintaining the charm of a traditional cottage.
Enjoy your stay!

Summer Walks - Fossil hunting
Join Chris Pamplin to explore Charmouth beach and collect your own fossils on a series of walks throughout the Summer. Recently reported landslides near Lyme Regis, which are about a mile to the West of the Charmouth Heritage centre, have not affected these walks. The landslip area is very clearly identified and is to be avoided however it is not an area which would have been of interest to fossil seekers.
